ForestVision 2.5 Update! Compatible with Unity 2019
Removed Substance! No more issues with 3rd party plugins. Since I pulled this out, I felt it was time to overhaul the whole package, so be sure you back up your previous version as I have dumped out almost all of the old trees!!
2 new demo scenes give you a good starting point to dig into your own forests! Uses Unity's Post Processing stack so be sure you install that as well!
We've also include a Low Poly asset collection with the ForestVision family! Includes a new shader that allows you control the gradient coloring of each of the 4 mesh elements in the collection: trunk, inside trunk, foliage, and snow.
Also fixed the Forestvision Browser--although still considered deprecated for now--I was able to get it working again!
86 Foliage textures, 54 Bark textures and 28 Ground textures included!
Reset Transform tool helps you reset the scale of your assets if desired.
ForumNo Subscription required! All ForestVision trees are simply
tree element that you can adjust as you see fit right in the editor! Broken down into a trunk base and branch arrangements, you truly can customize your scene to meet your artistic vision.
Many trees have been collapsed down into a handful of draw calls for use with Unity terrain painting. Library of assets grows with each update!
With the Optimize tool, you can collapse down to a single mesh draw call any and all of your creations. Note, it will save your materials as applied, and not atlas your textures.
ForestVision Branch Animator implemented as a basic wind system that affects animation on branches. Wind control give you the ability to affect the distance each branch will rotate away from it's starting position, how quickly it will interpolate between those rotations, and the overall intensity of the animation. Set the intensity level to zero and watch as the branches slowly return to their starting rotations.
Branch Animator rotations are dependent on camera position, so calculations are turned off if camera gets too far from the tree.
This product in no way is intended to be a replacement for Speedtree or the Unity Tree system. This is not a procedural tree creator.
This is a collection of assets that artists and non-artists can use to create an immense amount of new vegetation content, without ever needing an outside 3d modeling package.
ForestVision is a library of assets, a Tree Kit if you will, that grows with every update.
Note, this is not a collection of trees that are highly optimized for mobile. While the source meshes, trunks, branches, etc are optimized, the trees that can be made from these assets are 100% dependent upon how you create them. You can absolutely make trees that can run fine on mobile, but you are going to have to make sure that you don't add too many branches, in order to keep your poly counts down. So if your tree has 10 materials applied to it (trunk, leaves, ivy, vines, etc) then your tree is not going to collapse down to something that will be friendly on mobile devices without using a 3rd party plugin to handle that.
